Getting the Perfect Fit: What to Know About Alterations

Almost every wedding gown needs alterations. It is normal, not a sign you chose the wrong size. We do not have in-house seamstresses, but we are happy to recommend a few local tailors we trust and work with often. Alterations typically take about 4 to 6 weeks, so plan your fittings with that timeline in mind.

Bring your shoes and any undergarments you want to wear on your wedding day to every fitting. Heel height changes hem length, and shapewear changes how a bodice sits, so trying them on early helps your tailor get everything exactly right.

See our recommended tailors on the FAQ page.
