We all swooned a bit when we received images from our #BHBride, Morgan, and her husband, Marshall’s, big day! She had come in with big dreams of her wedding gown, and we had such fun helping her to find it. In the end, she decided on a custom Eddy K gown that was fit for a modern day princess and matched Morgan perfectly. Her bride tribe wore showstopping Sorella Vita sequin gowns that completed a timeless look with a stylish flair. Here are a few of our favorites! Enjoy!

You’ve got the dress, all of the details, plans and Pinterest projects have been finalized, friends and family are gathering, the day has arrived! One thing that you shouldn’t go without and will make the day go as smoothly as possible? A day of prep or emergency kit! By this point, everything has been prepared and planned for and nine times out of ten, everything will go off without a hitch. However, there is a slight chance a few last minute and very solvable hiccups may arise, and an emergency kit can solve a lot them! Most of the ones that you find online include everything you need, from a beauty emergency to first aid items. All of those items are great and absolutely should be included in your kit, but today, we’re going to focus on the items you need for the ensemble everyone is waiting to see-your dress!
Stain Remover Items
An expert tip? Ask your bridal consultant or seamstress about the fabric of your gown to ensure you get the best mix of stain fighters. Don’t be surprised if you hear things along the “home solution” line, such as Ivory soap, to specialized cleaners you will find at fabric stores. They may also suggest something in between those options such as baby wipes to the handy Tide stain remover pen. The way a stain responds to a cleaner is all about the fabric it has decided to live upon.
For that list minute snafu or lost button, a miniature or travel sewing kit can be a lifesaver!
This is perfect for those heavily beaded gowns that may lose a rhinestone or two at just the right time or if a heel gives you a convenient problem
Stick on Hemming Tape & Safety Pins
Again, your dress will be made perfect for you by your seamstress, but if something should happen the day of, these are surefire winners to include in your kit, just in case your bridal party doesn’t include someone with an interest in sewing.
For all of our brides that fell in love with the gown with buttons from top to bottom, a crochet hook will save you time and a gorgeous manicure. Such a simple tool that is sure to end up being one of your favorites!
Those last minute wrinkles will be a thought of the past with a handy handheld steamer. If you have a standard steamer, all the better, but by this point, a handheld one should do the trick!
These are just a few of the key items to include in your kit for that most important dress! While you will more than likely not have to use these items, it will give you peace of mind being prepared for anything. One other tip? If you have a full service or day of coordinator, check to see if they include an emergency kit with the service they are providing. Some do, and that will check one more thing off of your list!
By the way, how perfect is this emergency kit bag from Lily & Val?!
Once you find the dress of your dreams, it's time to find the dress (or dresses) for your bride tribe! Where to start, you ask? Join us as we give you some our favorite tips when it comes to selecting the perfect complimentary look for your girls on your wedding day and how to have fun doing just that!
The options are often times endless so the best way to start is to narrow down your color palette and the styles you are liking. Do some homework before your appointment-see which designers the shops you'll be visiting carry and take a look at their websites. Keep in mind, the shops may not carry every dress from that designer, but look through their collections to see which color, silhouette and fabric stands out to you. This will help to narrow down what will be the best choice for your girls and keep the experience fun and memorable in the best of ways! Are you a classic bride looking for a floor length black or navy dress for your bridesmaids to compliment a timeless look? Are you more of a modern glam bride and planning a wedding where sequin dresses would be the perfect addition? If you are either of those brides or in between, keep in mind the overall look and feel of your wedding and, ultimately, what will both look and feel amazing for your bridesmaids. You can't go wrong with those two thoughts as your focus.
A few other helpful hints?
Remember that bridesmaids are usually special order and take 3-4 months to come in. Give yourself 5-6 months to order if at all possible; this will allow your bridesmaids a little extra time to plan for that expense and to get professionally measured. In more of a hurry? No worries, most of our wonderful designers offer rush deliveries!
Are you wanting your bridesmaids to wear different styles or colors? Do you want to make it easier on you and your leading ladies? Pick 3-4 options for them and let them decide from those choices. While your heart is in the right place, it's sometimes more stressful and time consuming if they can pick anything. Give them the choice & a little guidance to keep everyone smiling.
Keep in mind that bridesmaid dresses are ordered according to size charts and are not custom made to your bridesmaids' measurements. What does this mean? First of all, it's so very important to be professionally measured to ensure the most accurate size is ordered. Second of all, most bridesmaids can expect to have alterations done to their dress to make it a perfect fit. The best part? These dresses are made to be altered so it's something a seamstress will be able to easily accomplish.

Sweet, sweet love is what first comes to our minds when we saw the images from #BHBride, Renee, and her husband, Broderick's, wedding! Set in the beautiful Ring Mountain Event Center overlooking the Texas Hill Country, their wedding day was filled with stunning views, beautiful details, and visible love. Renee looked perfectly timeless and so romantic in her Watters ensemble, and their colors of navy and peach were perfectly striking against the natural backdrop. Congratulations to the happy couple-we wish you many years of love and adventure!
